The deal between you and Two Bob, written to be read. Plain English first, in the order the questions usually come up. If a sentence here contradicts something a screenshot or blog post says, this page wins.
Two Bob is a personal budgeting app for iOS and Android, built for people in Australia and the United Kingdom. It records the income and bills you enter, estimates a tax and superannuation or pension set-aside, and shows you what's left. That's the job.
It is not financial advice, tax advice, or accounting software, and we are not a bank, broker, lender or licensed adviser. The tax and pension figures are estimates produced from the rates you select and the numbers you enter — useful for making sure you aren't caught short, not a substitute for a return prepared by a registered agent. Decisions you make with the app are yours.
By downloading or using the app, you're agreeing to these terms. If you don't agree with them, don't use it — and if you've already paid, ask us for a refund and we'll point you at Apple's process.
You need to be at least 16 years old and able to enter a contract where you live. The app is designed for Australian and UK tax settings; you're welcome to use it elsewhere, but the estimates won't be right for your country and we don't pretend otherwise.
An account is personal to you. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has got into your account so we can help you shut it down.
New accounts get seven days with the entire app unlocked — no features held back, nothing greyed out. We don't take payment details to start the trial, so nothing can be charged when it ends.
On day seven the app asks you to choose a plan and pauses until you do. Your entries stay in your account either way. One trial per person; making a second account to get another week isn't a hanging offence, but we may end trials we think are being farmed.
There are three ways to pay, and every plan includes every feature:
Prices are in Australian dollars including applicable tax, and the App Store converts and displays your local equivalent at checkout. Purchases are processed by Apple's In-App Purchase system, with RevenueCat handling entitlement and receipt validation on our side — we never receive or store your card details.
Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel through your App Store account settings at least 24 hours before the period ends; you keep access until the paid period runs out, and we don't claw back the remainder. Lifetime is a one-off non-consumable purchase — there's nothing to cancel, and it isn't a promise that the company lives forever, but it does mean you'll never be billed again for the app as it exists and as we continue to develop it.
Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under their policy, not by us — but if something's gone genuinely wrong, tell us and we'll help you make the request and back you up.
Nothing here limits the guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or your statutory rights under UK consumer law, including the right to cancel a digital purchase in the first 14 days where that right applies.
We may change prices for new purchases. If we change the price of a subscription you already hold, Apple will ask you to confirm before anything renews at the new rate — no silent increases. A lifetime purchase already made is not affected by later price changes.
The income, bills, notes and receipt images you put into Two Bob belong to you. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store that content, process it (including running on-device text recognition on receipt photos so the fields can be filled in — the photo itself never leaves your phone for this), sync it to your devices, and restore it if something breaks.
We don't use your financial entries to train models, we don't sell them, and we don't hand them to advertisers. What happens to your data in detail is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Don't do the obvious things: no reverse engineering or decompiling beyond what the law permits, no scraping or hammering our servers, no reselling access, no uploading other people's data without their say-so, and nothing illegal.
Two Bob's name, design, code and content are ours and stay ours. Using the app doesn't transfer any of that to you.
A future version will offer optional account linking through the regulated data provider Basiq. It will be read-only, off by default, and revocable from Settings. If you switch it on, that provider's own terms and consent flow apply in addition to these, and you'll see them before anything connects.
We work to keep Two Bob running and accurate, but we can't promise it will be available without interruption or free of bugs. Features may be added, changed or retired as the app develops; if we remove something significant, we'll say so in the release notes rather than let you discover it.
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to what you've paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Where consumer law gives you rights that can't be excluded — and in Australia and the UK it does — those rights stand regardless of this paragraph.
You can stop using Two Bob whenever you like, and you can delete your account from Settings — that removes your entries from the live database, with backups cycling out within 30 days.
We may suspend or close an account that's being used to break these terms or to attack the service. If we close your account and you haven't done anything wrong, we'll refund the unused part of a subscription.
When we change anything that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app before it takes effect. Carrying on using Two Bob after that means you're happy with the new version. If you're not, the exit is the same as always: cancel, or delete your account.
Two Bob is developed and operated from Australia, and these terms are governed by Australian law. If you're a consumer in the UK or the EU, you keep the protections and the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
Support, questions and legal notices all go through the in-app Settings → Help & Support screen, which reaches the same small team that writes the app. Until launch, the waitlist page is the fastest way to get hold of us.
